Cap Badge
Brass, gilt finish largely missing with the crest of the BC Public Health Service. Badge is held in place with a two-pronged pin at the back. According to the "History of Provincial Public Health Nursing Uniforms"(item b of 2003.49.34a-m), the metal crest was designed along with the cloth crest by Inspector Karl Ledeaux of the British Columbia Police in 1947. The gold-coloured metal insignia was worn to the front of the right side of the hat. Duplicate hat badge numbered 2003.49.6b is made of lighter and thinner metal, and is a bright gilt colour rather than the dull brass colour of this one.
