Provenance
During the Second World War the 1st Battalion Westminster Regiment served with the 5th Armoured Brigade of the 5th Canadian (Armoured) Division. The unit was motorized being equipped with mounted Bren Light Machine Guns which were automatic. The machine gun was transported in a carrier that was nicknamed the "Bren Gun Carrier".
