Machine produced, two-piece metal container, equal sized top and bottom, hinged completely down the centre back; exterior is covered with a black rubber-like covering, the interior is coated in a grey paint-like material; metal clasp on the centre front; foam inside cut to hold the five instruments; gold-coloured plastic label attached to the top left corner of lid, 'Zero Setting Compensating Planimeter'.
