Provenance
First introduced in the early 1900s by Albert Schoenhut, USA, offered a variety of jointed wooden figures and accessory units. Performers had slots in their hand and feet making it possible for them to stand on rungs of ladders, chairs etc. See "Spinning Wheels Book of Antiques p. 580-82 and "A History of Toys" by A.
