Outer stiff vertical brim of black felt-like fabric surrounds a cap-like crown of black silk(?) constructed in 3 segments; a central red flat tassel radiates from a flat disc at the top of the crown with an attached loop of braid; hand and machine stitched; lined in red cotton with attached paper label with black-ink characters; elastic cord is attached at edge of the brim; duplicate hat - 2010.170.41.
