Jacket
Tartan pattern worn by staff in Liquor Control Board stores (at least for a period in the late 1960s). Earl K. Ward designed this tartan as the official B.C. tartan - in use since 1966, officially adopted in 1974 - the five colours in the tartan are symbolic: blue - ocean; white - dogwood; green - forests; red - maple leaf; gold - crown and sun. Jacket has label on the inside noting when it was made and by who; '100 years' is also on this label, perhaps indicating a 100 year celebration of Canada's birthday (1867). A sewn on Liquor control Board badge with the provincial flag is on the front of the jacket; also on the front is a pin on badge with 'Liquor control Board 149' on it (perhaps a store #). See file #2003.22.1115A, and 2003.22.1115b for photo and information regarding jacket and man who wore it.
