Balance Scale
Scale with box; metal scale (a) is constructed with 2 lower metal bowls suspended by string from each end of an horizontal balance arm; the balance arm has a central upper triangular piece that is suspended and attached to an upper forked metal piece by a grommet that allows the balance arm to move; the uppermost forked piece has a string for hanging at the top; box (b) is constructed with 2 flat pieces that rotate on a nail and allow the pieces to open and close; both pieces are carved wood with a floral design on the outside; the upper piece is thinner in depth, while the lower piece is thicker with interior indentations that allow for storage of the balance arm and bowls.
